Carrick Central Otago Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 18-Dec-2012
Bright, very pale straw colour with green hues, near colourless on rim. The nose is firmly packed, though somewhat restrained in fruit expression, showing aromas of gooseberries and herbs, revealing passionfruit elements, along with some flinty reductive notes. Dry, crisp and elegantly weighted, tightly bound flavours of gooseberries and a little passionfruit unfold with subtle richness and succulence. This is well-proportioned on palate with good concentration and balanced lacy acidity. The fruit flavours carry through to a sustained finish. This is an elegant and softly weighted and restrained Sauvignon Blanc. Serve with Mediterranean salads and vegetable dishes over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Carrick' vineyards, indigenous yeast ferment, 30% in seasoned oak, to 12.5% alc. and 2.5 g/L rs. Certified BioGro organic. 16.5+/20 Dec 2012 RRP $21.00
