Carrick Central Otago Riesling 2012

Riesling from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 30-Jun-2013
Very pale straw colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. The bouquet is very delicate with fresh lemonade, sherbet and honeysuckle aromas, underlined by suggestions of minerals and flint. Medium-dry to taste and light-bodied, beautifully subtle flavours of limes and lemon are enriched by honied notes, the palate showing a refined richness and succulence. The mouthfeel is poised with lacy acidity providing energy and tension, and the flavours flow seamlessly. Gentle nuances of white florals, honey and minerals emerge and blossom on a long and sustained finish, carried a little by the residual sugar. This is a delicate and refined, medium-dry Riesling with lemonade and nuances of honey. Serve as an aperitif and with fine Asian cuisine over the next 4-5 years. Fruit from the ‘Carrick’ vineyards, hand-picked, WBP and indigenous yeast fermented to 11.0% alc. and 20 g/L rs. 300 cases made. 18.5+/20 Jul 2013 RRP $24.00
