Carrick Bannockburn Central Otago Chardonnay 2016

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 21-May-2017
Brilliant straw-yellow with lemon-gold hues, lighter on the rim. The nose is fresh and bright with vibrant and intense aromas of citrus fruits and white and yellow stonefruits forming a tightly bound core. The fruit is entwined with nutty oak, some creamy barrel-ferment elements combined with lemon-curd MLF, and a little oak toastiness. The aromatics are refreshing and possess cut. Medium-full bodied, the palate is tightly bound and elegant in proportion with lively and deep flavours of white stonefruits and citrus fruit melded with nutty oak. The fruit sweetness and fresh acidity carry the wine along a fine-textured line, leading to a taut, lingering finish of stonefruits, citrus fruit and creamy oak. This is an elegant, intense and vibrantly refreshing Chardonnay with stonefruit and citrus fruit flavours, and nutty oak detail. Match with seafood and poultry over the next 4 years. Clone 6 and Mendoza fruit from ungrafted vines, WBP and indigenous yeast barrel-fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 10% new French oak with 95% MLF. Certified BioGro organic. 1,000 dozen made. 18.0+/20 May 2017 RRP $38.00
