Carrick Bannockburn Central Otago Chardonnay 2010

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 18-Dec-2012
Mendoza and clone 6 fruit from the ‘Carrick' vineyards, WBP and fully barrel-fermented with indigenous yeasts to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 11 months in 17% new French oak, the wine undergoing 100% MLF and batonnage. Bright, full, straw-yellow colour with green-gold hues. This has a full, broad, but concentrated bouquet of ripe, savoury citrus fruits interwoven with aromas of cream and butterscotch from MLF and nutty barrel notes. Complexing toast and smoke nuances unfold in the glass. Fullish bodied, this is broad and richly mouthfilling with harmoniously integrated flavours of ripe citrus fruits, creamy, butter and toasted nuts. This is lush and soft in mouthfeel, with good underlying power, the acidity quite discreet in support. The palate leads to a long, dry and nutty-flavoured finish with oxidative complexities. This is a rich, lush and creamy Chardonnay with citrus and butterscotch flavours. Match with roasted pork over the next 3-4 years. 18.0/20 Dec 2012 RRP $29.00
