Organically grown fruit, 90% Monastrell and 10% Syrah from ‘Campos de Risca’ in Jumilla, fermented to 14.7% alc. and 2.8 g/L RS, bottled without oak aging. Full, even, darkish ruby-red colour with some garnet on rim. This has a light and ethereal bouquet with delicately lifted red floral and dark raspberry fruit notes, with soft jammy confectionary elements. Dry and medium-full bodied, a deep and linear core of savoury dark red berry fruits show with cedar and nutty secondary notes. The mouthfeel is mellow and softly rounded, revealing brown spice, earth and game detail. Soft, grainy tannins and textures grow, and lead to a frim, dry finish. This is a well-structured Jumilla that is beginning to develop some secondary nuances. Serve with slow-cooked red meats and casseroles over the next 4+ years. 8,300 dozen made. 16.5+/20 Mar 2014 RRP $16.99
