Campos de Luz Carinena Garnarcha Old Vine 2012

Grenache from Spain
Review Date : 11-Mar-2014
Very full, dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues. This has an elegant nose with fresh, well-ripened sweet, raspberry fruit aromas, indicative of Grenache and whole berry fermentation, with perfume, confectionary and jammy elements, along with nuances of herbs and minerals. Dry and medium-bodied, gently sweet and luscious fruit flavours of raspberries reveal some boysenberry jam notes. This is warm, sweet and supple on palate, with an elegant, rounded core, and a soft, lowish acid and restrained finish. This is a restrained, but juicy, ripe Grenache wine with a supple, accessible mouthfeel. Serve with Asian and Middle Eastern fare over the next 3+ years. 100% Garnacha from the ‘Campos de Luz’ estate in Carinena, fermented to 13.7% alc. and 3.3 g/L RS, bottled without oak aging. 79,000 dozen made. 16.5/20 Mar 2014 RRP $13.99
