Calabria ‘Three Bridges’ Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Cabernet Sauvignon from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 09-Feb-2016
Very dark, black-hued ruby-red colour with purple hues on the rim. The nose is softly rich and full with concentrated aromas of ripe blackcurrants, cassis liqueur and black berried fruits intermingling with layers of mint, liquorice and cedary oak nuances. Full-bodied, the palate is softly presented with layers of succulent blackberry and blackcurrant fruit flavours entwined with cassis, mint and cedary oak, with eucalypt elements, all harmoniously melded and integrated. The fruit is supported by very fine-grained, flowery tannin extraction providing significant structure, but allow the fruit richness to show. The tannins carry the wine to a dry, fine-textured, lingering finish with light and detailed flavours of cedar and mint. This is a softly full and layered, ripe Cabernet Sauvignon with plenty of fine-grained structure and flowery grip. Match with roasted and grilled beef, lamb and venison over the next 7-9+ years. Fruit from the Barossa Valley fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged in French and American oak. 18.0+/20 Feb 2016 RRP $21.95
