Cairnbrae Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 11-Oct-2013
The label of the Brown family acquired by Sacred Hill in 2001. Marlborough fruit cool-fermented to 12.5% alc. and dryness. Brilliant, very pale straw yellow colour, lighter on rim. The nose is fresh with light and gently expressed gooseberry fruit along with limes, white stonefruits and florals, all subtly interwoven. Dry to taste, cool-spectrum flavours of gooseberries, grass and nettles show with lift and lusciousness, the freshness enhanced by lively acidity. A little secondary development with green bean nuances emerge. The flavours flow along a fine-featured, firm line, leading to a long, aromatic finish. This is a lively, brisk Sauvignon Blanc with gooseberry and grassy flavours. Serve with salads and vegetables, and with Mediterranean cuisine over the next 2 years. 15.5/20 Oct 2013 RRP $18.99
