Cable Bay Waiheke Island Rosé 2011

Rose from New Zealand - Northland & Auckland
Review Date : 29-Aug-2011
Made from 83% Merlot and 17% Malbec from the ‘Edwards' vineyard, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 11.5% alc. and 6.0 g/L rs. Bright, light-pink colour with some youthful purple hues, there is some depth. The bouquet has delicately expressed, ripe red berry and plum flavours combined with savoury boiled confectionary aromas. Off-dry to taste, this has a gently luscious and subtly sweet palate with bright, up-front raspberry and red cherry flavours that build on the palate. The wine has good vinous presence and soft, rounded textures, but there is plenty of acidity to maintain good freshness throughout. Light nuances of red berry fruits and confectionary show on the finish. Serve this attractively soft-textured and fresh rosé with antipasto, cold meats and poultry over the next 2 years. 16.0+/20 Aug 2011 RRP $25.00
