Cable Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 22-Aug-2013
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on edge. Fresh, tightly bound and intensely concentrated aromas of pungent passionfruit are complexed by subtle flint and mineral nuances. This promises to develop and unfold more interest and richness. Dry to taste, finely concentrated, taut flavours of sweet passionfruit and minerals form a strong core with real linearity and drive. The palate is very fine-featured, very refined in texture, with taut, crisp and mouthwatering acidity. The flavours flow with energy and slipperiness, carrying through to a densely packed amalgam of long, lingering mineral and passionfruit flavours. This is a youthfully taut, concentrated and refined Sauvignon Blanc with lip-smacking freshness. Serve as an aperitif or with shellfish over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from the Wairau Valley, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 3.2 g/L RS. 18.5/20 Aug 2013 RRP $19.90
