Cable Bay Awatere Valley Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 30-May-2016
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with slight green-gold hues. The nose is fresh and fine in proportion with vibrant and bright aromas of gooseberries, cut grass, green capsicums and nettles, along with herbal and mouthwatering minerally cut. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate is tightly bound and elegant with intense flavours of gooseberries, cut grass, fresh herbs and nettles. The mouthfeel is fresh and zesty, with light, drying, underlying textures and brisk acidity. The thirst-quenching freshness carries the wine to a dry, lingering finish of cut grass and nettles. This is a crisp, mouthwatering, classical Awatere Sauvignon Blanc with cut grass, gooseberry and nettle flavours. Serve with salads and vegetables, and seafood over the next 2+ years. Fruit from the ‘Rocky’ and ‘Cinders’ vineyards, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 14.0% alc. and dryness, the wine aged 5 months on light lees. 16.5+/20 Jun 2016 RRP $23.00
