Cable Bay Awatere Valley Marlborough Pinot Noir 2014

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 12-May-2015
Moderately deep, light ruby-red colour with slight garnet hues on rim. The nose is elegantly presented with fresh red berry and savoury dark cherry fruit melded with cooler-spectrum herbal notes at the core. Nuances of redcurrants, red florals and pepper emerge in the glass. Mediun-light bodied, light red cherry fruit flavours are entwined with a subtle layering of herbs. Fresh lacy acidity brightens the fruit and lends a refreshing, lively mouthfeel. The wine follows a tight, light tannin line, revealing red florals and peppery elements. The acidity carries the flavours to a tight, moderately sustained finish. This is an elegant, cherry-fruited Pinot Noir with cool-spectrum herbal notes and a fresh, acid line. Serve with antipasto, tapas, tuna and salmon over the next 3+ years. Fruit from the ‘Redwood Pass Road’ vineyard, indigenous yeast fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine spending one month on skins and aged in oak and stainless-steel, the oak 10% new. 16.0+/20 May 2015 RRP $28.00
