Butterworth Layline Pinot Gris 2021, Martinborough

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 14-Jun-2022
Bright, even, pale yellow-green. The nose is fresh and softly full, aromas of pear drops and grapefruit melded with blossom. Dry-ish to taste, medium-bodied, bright aromas of pear drops, grapefruit intertwined floral and a hint of ginger dusting. The fruit is juicy and forwards with good concentration, supported by balanced acidity and a touch of sweetness fleshing out the palate. Subtle phenolic texture added substance. This is an easy-drinking Pinot Gris with upfront fruit, floral and spice elements on a textural palate. Match with pork dumplings and fish skewers over the next 2-3 years. Handpicked, fermented cool in matured oak to 12.5% alc, 5 g/l RS. Vegan friendly. 18/20 pts (90 pts) June 2022 RRP $26
