Burnt Spur Martinborough Pinot Gris 2012

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 18-Dec-2012
Hand-picked fruit given some skin contact and fermented to 12.5% alc. and 8.2 g/L rs. Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, near colourless on rim. This has a full and fresh bouquet of lifted floral and white stonefruit aromas with pears and honey, all well-balanced and in harmony. Off-dry to taste, soft and subtle flavours of honeysuckle and pears flow smoothly on a gently juicy palate. The mouthfeel is rounded and soft acidity enhances the lush fruitiness. The sweetness carries the palate line and delicate flavours to a light, attractive finish with honey and minerally nuances. This is a soft and subtly-flavoured off-dry Pinot Gris to match with mildly spicy Middle Eastern and Asian cuisine over the next 2-3 years. 17.0+/20 Dec 2012 RRP $24.00
