Bruno Clair Gevrey-Chambertin 1er ‘Clos St Jacques’ 2009

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 18-Feb-2014
Moderately deep ruby-red colour, lighter on edge. The nose is very fine, tightly bound and elegant in a slender style with bright cherry fruit aromas, quite aromatic and with lift, showing some oak. An elegant wine on palate with tight structure, the fruit flavours of cherries and raspberries quite juicy in expression and enlivened by fresh acidity. The palate features very fine-grained tannins that grow in presence, lending a seriousness and real substance. This is very well-ripened, and oak completes the expression. This is an elegant wine with freshness and fine structure. While pretty, it is pretty serious. It will keep 10+ years. 18.5/20 Feb 2014 RRP $N/A
