Brown Brothers Victoria Shiraz 2010

Syrah from Australia - Victoria
Review Date : 23-Dec-2012
Dark, deep, purple hued black-red colour, a little lighter on rim. This has a softly firm and concentrated nose with harmoniously entwined aromas of dark raspberry and peppery fruit with elements of eucalyptus, dusty earth and nuances of complexing animal notes. Medium-full bodied, the palate is elegantly proportioned with attractively juicy and succulent ripe raspberry fruit flavours. Lush eucalypt, pepper and spices unfold, with the most subtle notes of earth and animal providing detail and interest. The mouthfeel is smooth and supple, the palate underlined by very refined and restrained tannins that drive the flavours, carrying them to a well-concentrated, but soft textured and dry finish. This is a soft and finely textured, juicy Shiraz with ripe raspberryish and eucalypt flavours. Serve with pasta, barbecued food and most red meat dishes over the next 4+ years. Victorian Shiraz fruit fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 18 months in 15% new American and French oak barriques. 17.5+/20 Dec 2012 RRP $18.95
