Brown Brothers Victoria Shiraz 2009

Syrah from Australia - Victoria
Review Date : 20-Jul-2011
Victorian fruit, fermented to 14.5% alc., the wine aged 18 months in new and seasoned American oak, with 3% in new French oak. Very dark, deep, ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues, this has a concentrated and very intense nose of menthol and mint intermingling with peppery, dark red berry fruits. Medium full-bodied, the palate shows sweetly ripe and lush dark berry and peppery fruit flavours with attractive eucalypt and mint infusion. This is supported by fresh and lively acidity and supple, tannins that are sufficiently firm to provide good line. The wine shows warmth and richness. Sweet, spicy oak, with bacon-like nuances emerge in the glass. Match with herb-encrusted, grilled beef, lamb and game meat over the next 4-5+ years. 18.0-/20 Jul 2011 RRP $18.95
