Brown Brothers ‘Limited Release’ Heathcote ‘Single Vineyard’ Shiraz 2010

Syrah from Australia - Victoria
Review Date : 19-Mar-2013
Very dark, black-hued ruby-red, near impenetrable at heart. The bouquet is well-packed with aromas of dark red berry fruits infused with savoury leather, pepper, game and eucalypt, the nose showing complex secondary interest. Medium-full bodied, rich and dense flavours of dark red fruits, form a complex and lush amalgam showing earth, leather, black pepper, savoury oak spices, mint and meat. The acidity is soft and fine, grainy tannins contribute to good body and palate weight. The fruit richness and textures are carried to a long, lingering finish. This is a softly concentrated and grainy-textured Shiraz with complex fruit flavours that are beginning to develop secondary interest. Serve with slow-cooked game meat dishes over the next 5-6 years. Shiraz fruit from the company’s Heathcote vineyard fermented to 14.5% alc., the wine aged 12 months in 20% new American and French oak barrels. 17.5+/20 Mar 2013 RRP $24.99
