Fruit from Banksdale and Heathcote, and other sites in Victoria, fermented to 14.0% alc., a portion of the wine aged 12 months in 15% new French oak barriques. Full, dark, deep ruby-red colour with a little garnet on edge. This has a softly concentrated and gentle bouquet of savoury and earthy blackcurrant fruit with complexing nuances of olives and tapenade, and minty elements that unfold with nuances of funky game. Medium-full bodied, this has a soft and moderately dense core showing restrained blackcurrant fruit entwined with earth, olives and mint. Some gaminess emerges. The mouthfeel is rounded with soft tannin extraction which carries through to a dry, firm finish. This is a soft, gently packed Cabernet Sauvignon with blackcurrant herb and earthy notes.
