Brown Brothers ‘18 Eighty Nine’ Heathcote Shiraz 2012

Syrah from Australia - Victoria
Review Date : 20-Nov-2014
Dark, deep ruby-red colour, lighter edged. The bouquet is light and elegantly presented with aromas of dark red berryfruit, intermixed with subtle notes of black pepper, florals and spices. Medium-bodied, the palate is tightly bound and restrained in flavour, showing a core of soft red berry and cherry fruit. Nuances of pepper and spices add interest and detail, and the wine follows a light and fine-textured line. The extraction is modest and balanced with discreet acidity, and the wine has a light finish. This is a light and restrained Shiraz with gentle flavours of red fruits and nuances of pepper and spice. Serve with Middle Eastern fare over the next 3+ years. Fruit from the Heathcote district, fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 15 months in 13% new American and French oak barriques and puncheons. 16.5+/20 Nov 2014 RRP $19.99
