Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 18-Nov-2022
Bright, pale straw-yellow, even colour throughout. The nose is elegantly full with lifted spice overlying stonefruit, orchard fruit and well-portioned floral. Medium-full bodied, dry-ish to taste, pear and apple puree aromas intertwined with nectarine, white floral and five-spice. The mouthfeel is oily and smooth, adorned by fine-textured, silky phenolics. Lively balanced acidity brings freshness and drives to a lengthy, dry finish. This elegant Pinot Gris shows well-proportioned fruit and spice on a plush, fine-textured palate with a lively acid balance. Match with fish tacos and shredded chicken noodles over the next 3-4 years. Fermented to 13.5% alc, 5 g/l RS. Vegan friendly. 18.5+/20 pts (94 pts) Nov 2022 RRP $22
