Bright straw-yellow colour with pale god hues, lighter on the rim. This has a full and voluminous nose with interwoven aromas of yellow stonefruits melded with pears, yellow florals, a little honeysuckle and complexing nuances of flinty lees. The nose builds to show a firm heart. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is bright, vibrant and lively with sweetly rich flavours of aromatic stonefruits, pears and florals along with notes of honeysuckle and flinty lees. The fruitiness is balanced by light, grainy phenolic textures, and the mouthfeel is energised by fresh, brisk acidity. The wine is vigorous and carries to a flavoursome, lingering, mouthwatering finish with aromatic fruit notes. This is a fresh, lively and vigorous dryish Pinot Gris with aromatic fruit, grainy textures and fresh acidity. Match with Chinese and Middle Eastern cuisine over the next 3+ years. Named for Peter Robertson’s passion for Pinot Gris. Fruit predominantly from the ‘Ohiti’ estate, cool-fermented to 13.0% alc. and 6.0 g/L RS, the wine aged on gross lees with batonnage. 18.0-/20 Oct 2016 RRP $21.00
