Brookfields ‘Ohiti Estate’ Hawke’s Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 05-Dec-2017
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with slight green hints, near colourless on the edge. The nose is fresh and taut with a fine deep core of gooseberry fruit, green stonefruits, fresh herbs and minerals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is tight with an elegantly concentrated heart of green stonefruits, gooseberries and fresh herbs. The fruit is a little restrained in expression, and the mouthfeel is gently refreshing with light, lacy acidity. The wine flows smoothly along a fine line, leading to a light finish. This is a taut, dry Sauvignon Blanc with gooseberry, stonefruit, herb and mineral flavours on as fresh, smooth-flowing palate. Match with salads and vegetables, and Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. 100% Sauvignon Blanc from the ‘Ohiti Estate’, cool-fermented in tank with 5% in seasoned oak to 13.0% alc. and 3.0 g/L RS. 16.5+/20 Dec 2017 RRP $20.00
