Bright, moderate straw-yellow, even colour throughout. The nose is gentle, greeted with almonds, spices entwined with caramel hints, underlined pineapple and citrus. Full-bodied, aromas of grilled pineapple, melon, lemon melded with spices, marzipan and creamy caramel. The fruit is ripe and succulent, enriched by spicy barrel elements, provide a broad palate with notes of caramel and almonds. Lively acidity support a lengthy drive, along with a balanced creaminess, lends a satisfying, fulsome finish. This is a complete Chardonnay with tropical fruit, caramel, spice and nutty oak details on a creamy palate. Match with creamy chicken and grilled fish over the next 3-4 years. Fruit from Ohiti Estate and the winery block, indigenous yeast fermented and aged in French oak barrels on its lees, partial MLF. 14% alc. Vegan friendly. 18.5-/20 pts (92 pts) Sept 2021 RRP $21
