Brodie Estate Martinborough Dry Riesling 2016

Riesling from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 09-Mar-2017
Bright, light golden colour with some depth, paler on the rim. The nose is full, broad and open with aromas of honey and musk with subtle notes of lime fruit and yellow florals, overlaid by savoury lime marmalade botrytis notes with nuances of herbs. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has an amalgam of wild honey, savoury musk, lime marmalade and sherbet flavours along with lifted florals. The flavours are mouthfilling and the wine flow along a fulsome, fine-textured line with fine, lacy, underlying acidity. The flavours of savoury honey and musk carry through to a sustained, softly refreshing, dry finish. This is a honied and savoury musk and marmalade flavoured dry Riesling showing botrytis and a forward, accessible nature. Match with Asian and Middle Eastern fare over the next 3 years. Hand-picked fruit with some botrytis from Cirrus Estate, fermented in seasoned oak to 11.3% alc. and 3 g/L RS. 16.5/20 Mar 2017 RRP $30.00
