Bristol Farm Pinot Noir 2019, Central Otago

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Central Otago & Waitaki
Review Date : 01-Mar-2022
Deep ruby-red with good transparency, slightly lighter edged. The bouquet is full and uplifting with delicate floral fragrant, ripe strawberries, cherries interweave herb and spice. Medium-full bodied, elegantly presented aromas of cherries, strawberries melded with earthy minerals, dried thyme, spice and a savoury nuance. Lacy acidity lightens the structured palate and elevates the floral details. The mouthfeel is silky, contributed by finely extracted tannins, spice linger and lift the sustained, poised finish. This is a structured Pinot Noir with elegant fruit, and lacy acidity features a lifted floral detail and velvety palate. Match with tea-smoked duck and lamb loin over the next 5-7 years. Fruit from Bannockburn, clones 777, 6 and 115, fermented to 13.4% alc, aged 11 months in French oak barrels, 20% new oak. Unfiltered. 236 cases produced. 18.5+/20 pts (94 pts) Feb 2022 RRP $45
