Brightwater Vineyards ‘Sophie’s Kiss’ Nelson Rosé 2016

Rose from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 04-Oct-2016
Bright cerise-pink with some depth and pale purple hues on the rim. The nose is very fresh with a well-concentrated core of bright strawberry, cherry and raspberry fruits, along with lifted floral aromatics, some confectionary elements and subtly refreshing herb notes. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features bright and lusciously juicy, mouthfilling flavours of raspberries, cherries and strawberries entwined with confectionary notes and lifted red florals. The mouthfeel is refreshing and lively with light phenolic textures providing a guiding core and line, and lacy acidity lending energy and drive. The wine carries to a lingering, softly concentrated finish of raspberries and confectionary. This is a bright and lively, up-front off-dry rosé with raspberry, cherry and confectionary flavours. Serve as an aperitif and with tapas or antipasto over the next 2 years. Pinot Noir fruit, hand-picked and given 24 hours skin contact and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 6 g/L RS, the wine spending 30 days on lees. 17.5/20 Oct 2016 RRP $22.00
