Brightwater Vineyards Nelson Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 22-Jan-2014
Fruit from 20 y.o. vines from the ‘Home’ vineyard with fruit from the ‘Sturkenboom’ and ‘Chisnall’ sites, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. Bright straw-yellow colour with slight green hues on rim. The nose is softly full and voluminous, with well packed aromas of pungent passionfruit, tropical fruits and nuances of minerals harmoniously intermixed with fresh, cutting, herbaceous grassy notes. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, a soft, gentle core of passionfruit flavours is lifted by tropical fruit notes and refreshed by herbal, grass and minerally elements, the flavours opening to fill the palate. The mouthfeel is balanced with a very fine phenolic, textural line and underlying acidity that leads to a dry, crisp and mouthwatering finish. This is an up-front and harmonious Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit flavours and mouthwatering palate. Match with seafood, poultry and goats cheese over the next 2 years. 18.0-/20 Jan 2014 RRP $20.00
