Brightwater Vineyards Nelson Pinot Gris 2017

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 21-Sep-2017
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with slight green hues. The nose is soft and light with gently full aromas of white and yellow stonefruits along with hints of pears and exotic florals. This is well-proportioned and elegant in presentation. Medium-dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has gently rich flavours of white and yellow stonefruits entwined with floral and honey notes, The palate has a rounded mouthfeel with a light phenolic-textured thread to balance the fruit sweetness. The acidity is integrated enhancing the soft textures. The wine carries along a fine line with good body and presence, leading to an off-dry finish of stonefruits and honeysuckle. This is a gently rich, sweet-fruited medium-dry Pinot Gris with stonefruit, floral and honied flavours on a rounded palate with fine textures. Match with Asian fare over the next 3+ years. Hand-picked fruit, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 15 g/L RS, the wine aged 3 months on lees. 17.5/20 Sep 2017 RRP $22.00
