Brightwater Vineyards ‘Lord Rutherford’ Nelson Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 22-Jan-2014
Bright straw-yellow colour with light green hues, pale edged. This has a full, broad bouquet with a deep amalgam of passionfruit, flinty lees and mineral aromas. The aromatics are stylishly restrained, but show excellent presence. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features a concentrated core, packed with flavours of ripe passionfruit infused with flinty lees elements. The mouthfeel is rounded and dry, with fine phenolics and soft acidity, and the presence drives the flavours to a long, sustained finish. This is a soft and fine-textured Sauvignon Blanc with concentrated passionfruit flavours and flinty interest. Match with seafood and herb-marinated white meat dishes over the next 2+ years. A selection of fruit from the ‘Hope Plains’, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 6 weeks on lees. 18.0/20 Jan 2014 RRP $25.00
