Ruby-red colour with slight garnet hues, lighter on the rim. The nose is slender in presentation with fresh and lively fruit aromas of dark-red cherry and berry fruit, unfolding red liquorice, spices and an amalgam of fragrant red florals, herb and earth nuances. The aromatics grow in intensity with aeration. Medium-bodied, the palate possesses moderately sweet and juicy flavours of red cherries entwined with dark herbs, red liquorice, earth and savoury floral elements. The fruit and mouthfeel is enlivened by fresh acidity and the palate has light, grainy tannin extraction. This has a brisk and sinewy line that carries to a light, dry finish of cherries and herbs. This is a light Tempranillo with fragrant and savoury cherry and herb flavours, with fresh acidity and light sinewy textures. Serve with antipasto, poultry and pork over the next 4 years. Fruit from the ‘Hill’ block from 10 y.o. vines, fully destemmed and fermented to 11.5% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 30% new oak. 16.5/20 Jan 2017 RRP $35.00
