Brennan Gibbston Central Otago Riesling 2016

Riesling from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 07-Jan-2017
Bright pale straw-yellow colour, very light on the rim. The nose is finely presented and softly concentrated with gentle aromas of lime and lemon fruit entwined with subtle sherbet and honeysuckle notes and while floral elements. This is delicately detailed and shows purity. Medium in sweetness and light-medium bodied, the palate has a finely concentrated core of lively lime fruit long with white florals, sherbet and honeysuckle flavours. The mouthfeel is refreshing and thirst-quenching with crisp, zesty acidity and the wine flows with good drive and energy along a fine phenolic-threaded line leading to a long, lingering, citrus and floral nuanced finish. This is a bright, finely concentrated, lively medium Riesling with lime, sherbet and honeysuckle flavours on a zesty palate. Serve as an aperitif, and with Thai, Japanese and Vietnamese fare over the next 5 years. The first release of a Brennan Riesling, estate fruit fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. and 13 g/L RS, pH 3.16. 18.0-/20 Jan 2017 RRP $29.00
