Breaksea Sound Marlborough Dry Pinot Gris 2010

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 24-Nov-2011
Bright, light, golden straw-yellow colour, pale on rim. This has an intense nose of ripe pears and yellow stonefruits, musky apricots and flinty minerals that lend an austerity to the expression. Dryish on palate, this is fulsome and accessible, with openly lush stonefruit flavours enriched by honey notes. The textures are soft and fleshy, and discreet acidity underlines the fruit sweetness, leading to a moderately sustained finish. This soft, easy wine that has an appealing approachability that will make it a match with Middle Eastern and Mediterranean fare over the next 2-3 years. 100% Pinot Gris from Marlborough, cool-fermented to 13.5% alc. 16.5/20 Nov 2011 RRP $14.99
