Breaksea Sound Central Otago Pinot Noir 2009

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 18-Oct-2011
Bright ruby-red colour with a light edge. This has an elegant, but firmly bound, tight nose of fresh red and violet florals, red berry fruits with herbs, nuts and minerals. Medium-weighted, bright cherry, berry fruit flavours are lifted by attractive florals. The palate is linear and driven with fresh, racy acidity providing nervosity and tension. The extraction is moderate, and provides supple, fine tannins which result in an elegant, slender wine highlighting bright, aromatic fruit. 100% Central Otago Pinot Noir fruit fully destemmed and fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 10 months in seasoned oak. Match with salmon, tuna and subtle Asian cuisine over the next 4-5+ years. 17.5-/20 Oct 2011 RRP $22.95
