Bright, even, light straw-yellow colour with slight green hues. The bouquet is elegantly firm with a concentrated core of spicy green stonefruits with integrated smoky oak nuances, the nose very harmonious and balanced in expression. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, stylish and slender flavours of nectarines and green stonefruits show with good depth. The flavours are up-front and rich with good oak input, forming a harmonious mouthfeel. Very fine phenolic textures and soft acidity emerge, and the flavours recede gently to a light, easy finish with spicy fruits and subtle toasty, flinty nuances. This is an elegant and softly concentrated, up-front oak-influenced Sauvignon Blanc. Serve with grilled and roasted white meat and vegetable dishes over the next 2-3+ years. Sauvignon Blanc fruit from vines 10-25 y.o., fully barrel-fermented with solids to 13.8% alc. and 2.7 g/L RS, the wine aged 4 months on lees in French oak barrels. 17.0+/20 Feb 2014 RRP $28.95
