Brancott Estate ‘Turangawaewae’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 03-Sep-2014
Brilliant, very pale straw colour with yellow-green hues. The nose is tightly concentrated with intense and penetrating aromas of pungent passionfruit along with herbs and mineral nuances. The aromatics have projection and power. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, an intensely concentrated core of passionfruit and minerally flavours is the feature on palate. The fruit is lifted by subtle tropical fruit aromatics. The mouthfeel is enlivened by soft, ripe acidity which adds to the fruit lusciousness, while lending cut and vitality. The wine leads to a soft-textured, dry, very long and sustained finish with pungent passionfruit notes. This is an intensely concentrated, passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc with a delicate richness. Match with seafood poultry, salads and vegetables over the next 2+ years. Fruit from across the Marlborough region, vines 5-26 y.o., cool-fermented to 13.1% alc. and 3.8 g/L RS. 18.5/20 Sep 2014 RRP $17.29
