Mainly clone 6 fruit with some clone 95 and MVIGI from the Southern Valleys, fermentation initiated in tank and finished in large oak cuves to 14.2% alc., the wine aged 7 months in French oak, going through MLF. Full, bright, even straw-yellow colour. The nose is full and open with rich aromas of citrus fruits harmoniously interwoven with creamy barrel-ferment, lemon curd and butterscotch and nutty notes. The aromatics build in depth with aeration. Medium-full bodied, the flavours of citrus fruits and butterscotch are gentle and stylishly presented, and are melded with creamy, nutty oak. The mouthfeel has richness and is rounded and with fine textures and fresh, balancing acidity underlining the flow, carrying through to a creamy finish with toast and buttery flavours. This is a creamy, buttery, citrus-fruited Chardonnay with good richness. Match with creamy seafood, poultry and pork dishes over the next 3+ years. 17.5/20 Feb 2015 RRP $19.95
