Brancott Estate ‘Terroir Series’ Awatere Valley Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 10-Feb-2015
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on rim. The nose is tightly concentrated with finely presented aromas of pungent passionfruit infused with chalky minerals and nuances of nettles in a classical Awatere expression. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the flavours of passionfruit and minerals form a tight and firm core. The palate has fine, dry, mouthwatering textures and follow a good line with energy and drive, with balanced acidity melded with the chalkiness. The wine has a long, lingering, thirst-quenching finish. This is a tightly bound, chalky, thirst-quenching Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit and minerally flavours. Match with seafood, salads and vegetables and goats cheese over the next 2 years. Mass selection fruit from the Awatere Valley, cool-fermented in tank to 12.8% alc. and 3.7 g/L RS, a small portion fermented and aged in large oak cuves. 17.5+/20 Feb 2015 RRP $19.95
