Brancott Estate ‘Terroir Series’ Awatere Valley Marlborough Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 10-Feb-2015
Awatere Valley fruit cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.3% alc. and 9.3 g/L RS, the wine given extended lees contact. Full, even, straw-yellow colour with slight golden hues at the heart, lighter on edge. This has a fresh, aromatic and lifted nose of white stonefruits, rose-petal florals and musk, revealing nuances on honeysuckle, the perfumes blossoming in the glass. Medium-dry to taste and medium-bodied, bight and light fruit flavours of stonefruits, exotic florals and musk feature on the palate. The fruit is open and aromatic with a fine-textured, phenolic line guiding the flow with some alcohol drive in support. The mouthfeel is soft, with gentle acidity and the wine carries to a fresh, light, aromatic finish. This is an attractively aromatic, off-dry Pinot Gris with a soft palate. Serve with Asian cuisine over the next 3+ years. 17.5-/20 Feb 2015 RRP $19.95
