Brancott Estate ‘Reserve’ Sparkling Pinot Gris NV

Sparkling Wine from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 17-Aug-2011
Pale straw-yellow colour with a pale edge, this has a fine bead with some persistence. On bouquet this is light and fresh, showing aromas of stonefruits, pears, herbs and hints of honey. Medium dry to taste, this is a light flavoured wine, with sweet pear fruit, herbs and delicate spices notes. The mousse provides an open mouthfeel and allows a fine-textured drying finish to emerge, with nuances of honey and stonefruit along with a little flintiness. Fruit from the Waipara Valley fermented to 11.5% alc., with 17 g/L rs. The wine is carbonated to preserve varietal character. Serve this easy drinker as an aperitif, with antipasto and with Asian cuisine now and over the next 18 months. Aug 2011 RRP $25.95
