Brancott Estate ‘Reflection’ Limited Edition Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc/Sauvignon Gris 2016

Blended White from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 19-Oct-2017
Full, bright straw-yellow colour with slight golden hues. The nose is very fresh and tightly bound with taut aromas of pure green stonefruits and delicate gooseberry notes, unfolding subtle herb and grassy elements, along with wet-stone minerals. The nose intensifies and shows a concentrated core with aeration. Dry to taste nd medium-full bodied, the palate is tightly bound with flavours of green stonefruits and gooseberries, cut grass and herbs along with complexing mineral notes. The fruit has depth and intensity and underlined by very fine fruit extract textures lending dryness, and brisk, racy acidity enlivening the mouthfeel. The palate has positive linearity and carries to a long and sustained finish of green stonefruits, grass and minerals. This is a very refined, taut and tightly bound Sauvignon Blanc/Sauvignon Gris blend with intense green stonefruit flavours on a very fine-textured, minerally palate. It will develop over the next 5+ years. Serve with shellfish, salads and vegetables and Mediterranean fare. A blend of 52% Sauvignon Blanc and 48% Sauvignon Gris from the ‘Brancott’ vineyard, vines 10-20 y.o., predominantly hand-picked, WBP, and indigenous yeast fermented in various formats of oak to 14.7% alc. and 4.2 g/L RS, the wine aged approx. 10 months in 37% cuves, 37% in foudre and the remainder in 500 L puncheons. 18.5+/20 Oct 2017 RRP $60.00
