Brancott Estate Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 06-Feb-2012
Mass selection fruit from a range of vineyard sites throughout Marlborough, some of the fruit given skin contact, then cool-fermented to 12.5% alc. and 4.0 g/L rs, the wine bottled without any oak influence. Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, the nose is softly full, quite elegant and light, with evenly presented aromas of gooseberries and ripe capsicums along with some passionfruit notes. Dry to taste and medium-light weighted, flavours of limes and gooseberries form a core with a slight phenolic texture providing line and length. Nuances of tropical fruits and herbs unfold adding some lusciousness and hinting at succulence. The wine is lively and bright from good, racy acidity. Match this bright, light, soft and evenly expressed classical Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc with Pacific Rim seafood and poultry dishes over the next 2 years. 16.5+/20 Feb 2012 RRP $25.99
