Brancott Estate ‘Letter Series – F’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2015

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 18-Nov-2015
Bright, light golden-hued straw-yellow colour, a little lighter on the edge. This has a soft and gently voluminous nose with restrained fruit expression, unfolding to show ripe yellow stonefruits and yellow floral elements, along with tropical fruit and honeysuckle suggestions, revealing nutty oak, flint and mineral complexities. Off-dry to taste, the palate features a rich and rounded mouthfeel encasing subtle flavours of sweetly ripe yellow stonefruits, tropical fruits, honeysuckle and florals. Savoury nutty elements emerge to add interest. Some alcoholic power is present, and along with soft acidity, adds to the weight and presence. Nuances of honey, exotic florals and stonefruits blossom on the finish as it grows in sweetness and richness. This is a softly full, solid and rounded off-dry Pinot Gris with ripe fruit and some alcoholic power. Serve with Mediterranean fare over the next 4 years. Predominantly hand-picked fruit, 85% fermented in seasoned 10,000 L oak cuve and 15% in new and seasoned French oak puncheons to 14.5% alc. and 9.7 g/L RS. 18.0-/20 Nov 2015 RRP $33.20
