Brilliant straw-yellow colour with light golden hues, a little lighter on the rim. The bouquet is very elegantly proportioned with very taut and tightly concentrated aromas of spicy green stonefruits, greengages and nectarines, densely packed with herb, smoke, flint and nutty, mineral detail. The nose grows in depth, concentration and detail with aeration. Very dry to taste and medium-full-bodied, the palate features an extremely powerful and concentrated core of green stonefruits entwined with piquant herbs, spices, nuts and smoke, with mouthwatering mineral notes. The mouthfeel possesses considerable textural presence, the phenolics fine-grained, but considerable in vinosity. The wine has immense power and drive, the alcohol noticeably adding to the energy. This carries to a very long, concentrated, steely and mouthwatering finish. This is a very intense and powerfully concentrated oak-influenced Sauvignon Blanc with green stonefruit flavours and complexing. mouthwatering detail, significant structure and texture, power and a degree of elegance and proportion. Serve with herb-marinated seafood, poultry, pork, and veal dishes over the next 4-5+ years. Mass Select clone fruit from selected rows on the ‘Brancott’ vineyard, vines 15-17 y.o., hand-picked, WBP, undergoing low press cuts and indigenous yeast fermented in oak cuves to 14.5% alc. and 2.1 g/L RS, TA 8.1 g/L and pH 3.13, the wine spending 8 months on lees. 19.0+/20 Dec 2015 RRP $80.00
