Brancott Estate ‘B Brancott’ Marlborough Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 29-Aug-2011
Made from fruit from 12 y.o. vines from ‘Brancott Estate', shrivelled and affected by noble rot, then cool-fermented to 10.5% alc. and 232 g/L rs. Deepish, light golden-yellow colour with a pale edge, this shows plenty of rich talc, wild honey, tropical fruits and lime marmalade aromatics, with notes of raisins and herbs. Very sweet and rich on palate, this is luscious and honied with masses of flavour of ripe tropical fruits, nectarines, honey and marmalade. The botrytis component is a feature of the palate, and excellent acidity underlines the unctuousness of the wine. Quite hedonistic and near over-the-top in opulence, this is a delicious nectar of a wine to match decadent desserts over the next 4-5 years. (375 ml)  Aug 2011
