Bracken’s Order Central Otago Pinot Noir 2011

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 26-Jan-2014
Dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour with light garnet on the rim. This has a tightly concentrated and finely presented bouquet showing aromatic, dark raspberry and cherry fruit, liquorice with little pepperiness. Medium-full bodied, soft and luscious, juicy raspberry fruit flavours are intermixed with dark herbs and floral notes. The mouthfeel is grainy with fine tannin structure and fresh from good acidity, but the fleshy fruit prevails. A concentrated core and line drives the sweet fruit flavours to a long, sweet finish. This is a fulsome, fruity Pinot Noir with good freshness and structure. Match with poultry, pork and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine over the next 4-5 years. Made from a range of clones from the ‘Holtzman’ vineyard, Gibbston, indigenous yeast fermented with a small portion of whole clusters to 13.8% alc., the wine aged in new and seasoned oak. 17.5+/20 Jan 2014 RRP $35.00
