Bourillon-Dorleans ‘Le Coulee d’Argent’ ‘Vieilles Vignes’ Vouvray Sec 2009

Chenin Blanc from France - Loire
Review Date : 09-Oct-2012
Bright, even straw-yellow colour. This has a full, broad and rounded nose of yellow stonefruits, bruised apples, savoury herbs and some mint, very classical Loire Chenin Blanc in character. Dry to taste, the palate is dry in texture and flavour, the yellow stonefruits intermixed with nutty elements. A little phenolic grip is noticeable and some alcohol heat with it. The acid mouthfeel is low, resulting in a soft evenness and breadth. A little oxidation shows, but seems in character with the flavours. This is beginning to soften, flatten out and tire, but it still shows typical Loire Chenin Blanc style. Drink now. 13.0% alc, 9 g/L rs, 20% in barriques, aged on lees 6 months. 17.0/20 Oct 2012
