Bouldevines Marlborough Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 27-Jun-2012
Moderately deep, dark ruby-red colour with some garnet hues on rim. This has a rich nose of ripe dark raspberry fruit, lifted with aromatic notes of jam, spices and liquorice along with violetty florals. Medium-bodied, the palate features ripe, openly expressed, sweet raspberry fruit flavours, with good depth. Oaking is sensitive and in very good balance. Fine tannin extraction provides good structure and mouthfeel and a liveliness is enhanced by bright acidity. The fruit flows with drive to a sustained finish of sweetly ripe dark red berry fruit flavours. This is a classical, upfront and delightfully attractive Pinot Noir with the balance to keep 4-6 years. Match with roast duck or pork. Pinot Noir fruit from four blocks in the ‘Bouldevines' vineyard, destemmed and given a cold soak and fermented to 13.5% alc. The wine was aged 10 months in 20% new French oak barriques. 18.0-/20 Jun 2012 RRP $29.95
