Bouldevines Marlborough Pinot Gris 2011

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 15-Nov-2011
Bright straw-yellow colour with the faintest blush, pale on rim. This has a very intense, lifted nose of spiced pears, with exotic florals, quite Gewurztraminer-like. Off-dry to taste, this has delicate flavours of aromatic pear fruit with subtle florals and spices on a smooth-textured, lush and seamless palate. The acidity is very well-balanced and provides focus and tension. The alcohol is integrated with the texture, and the wine carries an underlying power, leading to a sustained finish with nuances of spices and florals. This is a very stylish and smooth wine to serve with Asian cuisine over the next 3-4 years. Fruit from young vines cool-fermented to 13.0% alc. and 6.6 g/L rs. 18.0/20 Nov 2011 RRP $24.95
