Bouchard Pere Beaune 1er ‘Tuerons’ 2010

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 01-Aug-2012
Bouchard are among the largest landowners in Burgundy with around 130 ha of vines. Successful frontrunner since being owned by Champagne Henriot. Bouchard Pere own 2.41 ha of the 21 ha site. Some whole bunch, the wine aged 10-18 months in 60-85% new barrels. Light ruby-red colour with garnet hues, this has light, ripe berry fruit and red floral aromas complexed with some spicy whole bunch and oak notes that quietly build in intensity. On palate very approachable with supple, lush and juicy red fruits, quite lively and bright in expression. Toasty oak and spice flavours add interest. Medium bodied, this has a restrained tannin expression, but there is a good core that opens smoothly to fill the palate gently. This is an elegant, approachable modern style that will keep well due to its balance. A charmer, to keep 6-9 years. 18.0+/20 Jul 2012 RRP $68.99
